Hi Friends. A little information for you all regarding works that are due to take place in the park during the next few weeks.
Commencing this coming Monday, 5th August, work will begin on a new, double size, Petanque Piste, adjacent to the existing one. This work, by Coles Groundworks Ltd, appointed by the friends has been in the planning stages for a couple of years. It is being funded by the FDP, partly from money raised through the Cooperative Community Grant Scheme and from donations from ward councillor Bill Stevens from his PCC Community Fund. Even so, we still need to raise more so, we would be most grateful for any help you can give.
Starting on 13th August, the Doris Gun Memorial will be receiving some much needed attention. Architectural Restorer, Andy Mitchel has been engaged by Plymouth City Council to undertake this delicate work. The Memorial is to be cleaned and re-painted.
